The Eurocopter EC120 Colibri is a five-seater single-engine light helicopter designed and developed jointly by Eurocopter , China National Aero-Technology Import & Export Corporation (CATIC), Harbin Aviation Industries (HAI) and Singapore Technologies Aerospace (STAero) in the factory from Marignane from Eurocopter France.
The Colibri’s wide-cabin design gives it excellent visibility, making it appropriate for a wide variety of civilian missions, such as equipment transport, photography and filming, training, patient evacuation and means of business transport.
In the role of medical evacuation, the helicopter can transport a pilot, a stretcher and one or two paramedics. For the transport of loads, the Colibri can transport a pilot and 2.94 m³ of volume or lift 700 kg by crane.
The Eurocopter EC120 B is mainly made of composite materials. It has a Turbomeca Arrius 2F engine, as well as a protected rotor, called Fenestron, making it a particularly quiet, agile and fast helicopter.
In addition to civil papers, the Colibri is also used in military units for training, observation and light transport missions.
