WHAT CAN YOU DO?
Act as pilot in command in single-engine helicopters with a maximum takeoff mass of 2,000 kg, transporting a maximum of 3 passengers.
Course Description
He LAPL(H) light aircraft pilot course trains pilots in command in single-engine helicopters, with a maximum certified take-off mass of 2,000 kg or less, carrying a maximum number of 3 passengers, so that there are never more than 4 people on board.
Course duration
Approximately 2 months.
Course structure
The applicant must complete 100 theoretical hours. During the course the following topics will be studied:
- Aeronautical law
- Human factors
- Meteorology
- Communications
- Principles of flight
- Operational procedures
- Flight performance and planning
- General knowledge of the aircraft
- Navigation
It consists of 40 hours of helicopter flight instruction, of which at least 35 will have been flown in the type of helicopter that will be used for the skill test, and must consist of at least:
- 20 hours of dual command flight instruction.
- 10 hours of solo supervised flight, including at least 5 hours of solo cross-country flight with at least 1 cross-country flight of at least 150 km (80 NM), during which 1 full-stop landing will be made at an aerodrome other than the starting one.

The applicant will demonstrate an adequate level of knowledge to pass the following subjects:
- Aeronautical law
- Human factors
- Meteorology
- Communications
- Principles of flight
- Operational procedures
- Flight performance and planning
- General knowledge of the aircraft
- Navigation
In addition, you will carry out a skill test with the helicopter with which you have carried out the flight practice.
Requirements to take the course
The applicant must meet the following requirements:
- Be over 17 years old.
- Have a class 1 or class 2 medical certificate.
